I was recently sent some Revlon products through the Revlon Selects program. The Revlon Lash Potion and Revlon ColorSilk hair colour. Thank you Revlon!

Revlon Selects

Before I even received the products, my friend Wendy told me about this great mascara that she just bought that weekend that she was in love with and I needed to try it. She is well aware that I am a makeup junkie so if my close friends tell me to try something I most probably am!

Luckily, my Revlon Selects package came the next day and the Lash Potion was in it. YES!

So I opened it up and tried it the next morning and I actually remembered to take photos of before and after! J

What did I like about Lash Potion?

The wand – it pretty bushy, with long bristles. It makes it easy to roll up the lashes. I did manage to hit my eyelid with the brush when I was applying so be careful when wiggling the wand around in the roots of your lashes.
It gives great volume plus a little lengthening (not enough length to make me giddy though)
The formula is on the wet side when it is first opened. I don’t find that a deal breaker as I usually find the formula ‘thickens’ up after about a week or so to what I call the 'Goldilocks zone' HAHA.

What I didn’t like?

Clumps with more than two coats
It transferred under my eyes after a few hours – that is a deal breaker for me

So I went back to my friend and asked her if it transferred on her. It did not and she was still advocating it. After a bit more discussion, it turns out she has the waterproof formula. That is probably the reason for no transfer, no clumps and her long lasting results.

My verdict: it’s a good volumizing mascara but the resulting transfer would not make me want to repurchase. But if you want volumizing clump free results try the waterproof version which I just might go get to try out.

I usually don’t sleep too much at night. Nature of my condition. So no sleep, boredom, credit card and the internet breed a dangerous storm for me - late night shopping on the interwebz.

I just found out a couple weeks ago that NailPolishCanada.com has Cult Nails in stock now so I hopped on over there for look-see. I had no intention of buying anything but....

Since I had been admiring some really beautiful stamping nail art recently I ended up buying the Konad Set T stamping kit.

and then I stocked up on my favorite all time polish; For Audrey.

When I got my NPC order, I watched a few tutorials on how to nail stamp on YouTube. I just searched ‘how to nail stamp’ and BAM a ton of videos come up. I chose to do a full nail stamp LOL! Why I didn’t just start with a simple little nail design I do not know. No guts = no glory I say! Go for the gold! Or in this case the houndstooth HAHA!

I used my new Konad stamping kit; the stamper, scraper and the special white and black polish included in the kit. (The Set T also comes with a starter plate, M36 that has some flower designs on it and a full size Konad top coat). I had already used the kit when I took the pictures. That is why the scraper is stained. I just couldn't stop to take any stinking pictures! I had to play!

I started off with a base coat of hot pink (Cocolily) on most of my nails and on my ring finger I used OPI Alpine Snow. Then I decided to use the houndstooth pattern on the BM322 plate. O_o

I used the white special stamping polish on the pink nails and the black on the white nails. I found it pretty easy to roll the design on my nails. Although I messed up lining up the houndstooth pattern so it would be ‘straight’ and did one nail upside down HAHA but I think overall for my first attempt it came out pretty well. I did notice that the white stamping polish wasn’t very vibrant and it seemed to dry really fast on the stamper. I was pretty darn quick working with it so I am not sure if it was the polish or me?? The black polish worked perfectly. So I am thinking it is the polish. That has to be it, right? HA! Perhaps someone can suggest another white polish that works better?

I did notice that the ‘full nail’ design on the Bundle Monster plate BM322 did not quite fit my thumb nail. I do not have inordinately large thumbs nails so I imagine a lot of people have this same problem. There was no way I was going to try to line up another stamp to cover the bit that was missing. I just thought ‘whatevs it looks good’ and top coated that sucker.

I am now a fan of stamping. Even though I kinda suck right now. But practice makes perfect right? I got a lot of compliments on this mani by complete strangers. It was a little weird to have a stranger grab my hands at SDM to see my mani LOL but nice too.

So I am hooked right now on stamping and in another late night shopping frenzy ordered a Cheeky plate. It is especially designed with larger images on it. I can’t wait for it to get here...from Hong Kong so it might be a few weeks.

For the last month I have been sporting a really basic neutral look. So my favorites for the past two months sort of reflect that. It may also be because I absolutely love my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. That is probably the driving factor hehe.

Favorites

1. As I mentioned, the main product I have been obsessed about is the Naked Basics palette. Totally adoring this for the quick and easy neutral looks.

2. Of course I am still loving my Revlon ColorStay Whipped Crème foundation. I think this foundation looks better the longer you have it on. Weird magical stuff... I am on my second jar now :)

3. Le Metier de Beaute Sun Kissed bronzer – I have been basically using this as a blush. It does give a wonderful sun-kissed look. I won this in a giveaway. So glad I did! LMDB is awesome stuff, expensive but awesome.

4. The blush I have been grabbing on those days I want a little more color on my face is Milani Rose D’oro. I always seem to forget about this blush in winter but as soon as the warmer weather roles around, I am reaching for this for the peachy golden glow.

5. Favorite brush is still my Coastal Scents Angled Kabuki. It is fabulous for applying my foundation. It is dense and soft which is great for applying both my crème foundation and powder.

6. For my favorite lip products, I alternate between my Fyrinnae Type A lip lustre (which is now sadly discontinued) for the days I want a punch of colour and L’Oreal Color Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Rose On and On. I only use this one sparingly as it very drying on my lips after a wearing it a few days in a row. Wah. I have to go gloss shopping and find something similar that won’t dry out my lips.

7. Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero has been my mainstay liner for this past month. It is just so easy to apply and stays all day for me.

8. Prada Infusion D’Iris – still loving this scent. :) This is my new little bottle. I traded some polish for it with my friend. I am going to have to keep my eyes open for this one (hopefully on sale somewhere).

9. Last but not least is the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment we received in our Glossybox a few months back. My hair is sucking this stuff up. My hair is healthy looking, manageable and a lot smoother now. I am totally sold on this stuff!

Of course I still love my Benefit They’re Real mascara and Marcelle Xtension Plus mascara. I use these interchangeably and sometimes together. I think these two will be on my Favorite Luvs list for the foreseeable future.

Last November, we Glossybox gals received a Loyalty Card for 50% off at UberBeautyProducts.ca. At the time I had never heard of Uber Beauty Products. Fast forward to February and Uber contacted me and asked if I would be willing to try their products. I accepted their offer and I selected a few items. I have used these products for almost two months now. This review is my honest opinion.

Uber Beauty Products has an Uber Sassy line for women and Uber Slick line for men. Each line has face, body, tanning and hair products.

Uber Sassy 'A-List Fix'

The products I selected to try out were from the Uber Sassy ‘A-List Fix’ Cleanser Soothing for Normal/Combination line; the Cleanser (200ml/$17.50), the Toner (200ml/$19.00), the Day and Night Face Cream (50ml/$59.00) and the ‘A-List Fix’ Mask Moisturizing for Dry/Dehydrated Skin (125ml/$22.50). The main touted ingredients in these products are frankincense and mandarin with the Day and Night cream also having sea kelp and avocado.

Frankincense:This aromatic extract from the Boswellia tree has powerful aromatherapy properties to sooth and relax.The oil is naturally antiseptic with healing benefits. It promotes facial skin cell rejuvenation by improving blood supply and stimulating circulation.

Mandarin: Helps to improve the complexion and reduce fine lines. This oil is also anti-inflammatory, which desensitises irritation and reduces puffiness

The Uber Sassy products come in chic white packaging with its winky smiley face logo (so cute) and has a light scent. It is quite lovely. I do believe it is the frankincense that smells so nice. Plus I think the scent is calming as well. The cleanser and toner both come with pump tops. I really like that - it makes it so much easier to use. The Day and Night cream comes in a solid frosted glass jar with a little plastic tab cover inside to keep the product from spilling on the lid.

My nightly regime, in a nutshell, starts with eye makeup remover and a Neutrogena facial wipe to wipe away my face makeup. I always pre-cleanse like this as I do not feel that most face cleansers can effectively remove all face makeup and get the face cleansed properly. Then I wash my face with a cleanser and sometimes I use a toner. I will exfoliate every third day or apply a mask. Lastly, I apply my night cream and eye cream. These Uber Sassy products fit seamlessly into my nightly regime.

Uber Sassy ‘A-List Fix’ Cleanser Soothing for Normal/Combination Skin

First thing I noticed with the facial cleanser is that it has a thin milky consistency almost like skim milk. To wash my face, I used about 5-6 pumps. Which sounds like a lot but it isn’t. I have been using this cleanser for almost two months and I still have lots of product left. I rub this all over my damp face with tiny circular motions then rinse off with water. It doesn’t lather so if that is something you like, this is not going to do it for you. This cleanser leaves the skin almost squeaky clean feeling without stripping the face of its natural oil base. I prefer milky cleansers as they work best at soothing my sensitive skin. I had no issues with this cleanser at all and I really enjoy using it. I do plan on getting more.

Uber Sassy ‘A-List Fix’ Toner Soothing for Normal/Combination Skin

I will admit that I am not a faithful toner user. But for testing out this range I did use it. I followed up with a couple pumps on a cotton pad. It did a great job of removing any excess product and restoring balance to my skin.

Uber Sassy ‘A-List Fix’ Day and Night Face Cream

If I wasn’t exfoliating or applying a face mask, I would just apply my eye cream de jour and then the Day and Night Cream. When I first applied this cream, it soaked into my skin so fast I thought it dried off right away. But after a little while, my face felt baby soft. You know that soft feeling you can’t help touching over and over? LOL By morning my face felt soft and supple. Since this is a glycerine based cream I prefer to use it only at night. I truly believe this Day and Night Cream is great for sensitive skin.

This Uber Sassy range actually ‘saved’ my face. I had forgotten my Neutrogena face wipes during a weekend trip on Easter break. So I trotted (okay drove) to the nearest Wal-Mart and grabbed what I thought was Neutrogena face wipes but turned out to be the Wal-mart brand. After two days, my eyes and cheeks became so irritated, burning and red from the alcohol in the cheapy wipes. I was in hell. So I doused my face with the facial cleanser and liberally applied the night cream on the affected areas. Normally when this happens (and it happens more that I would like) it takes weeks for my face to heal and get back to normal. But by the time I got home, the redness was almost gone. When I got home, I just applied my La Roche Posay serum to assist with the healing and my face returned to normal within days! So that really impressed me.

Bottom line I have to say I am pretty happy with these Uber Sassy products. The Cleanser Soothing for Normal/Combination line is pretty great for sensitive skin.Like I said before I plan on purchasing more of the cleanser for sure and maybe the night cream. I think it made for a good winter moisturiser.

As you may have noticed I didn't review the mask. I will post a review on it at a later date as I have only used it twice and want to test it a bit more.
