China Glaze Texture Polish – Unrefined
I recently got this textured polish in my Nail Canada Polish haul. I wanted
to check out a texture polish so I chose China Glaze’s Unrefined, a matte barbie pink.
I applied Unrefined over a base coat only and no top
coat. This polish applies pretty easily and was completely opaque in two coats.
It lasted 3 days with some chipping happening on the fourth day.
Now when I was taking pictures of this polish, I noted that it was almost impossible to get my camera to really show how blue based the pink is. The first picture below is a good representation of what the colour really looks like IRL. It was taken by the window. I would have liked to taken all the pictures by the window but it has been so cloudy rainy here for almost a week it was just not happening. Grrrr.

Even when I looked at swatches online I noticed the same
thing, this colour photographs more baby pink than barbie pink it is closer to. Weird! But I am glad it came out a bit darker IRL. :)
I am kinda digging
the texture polishes. Now I want to try the Zoya Pixie Dusts...
How about you guys? What are your thoughts on textured
polishes?

I didn't think I'd like textured polishes as much as I do. I just got the Zoya and OPI Bond irls polishes and I cannot wait to try them out. I was constantly stroking my nails too ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh I want the blues from both Zoya and OPI and Honey Rider. God I am developing quite the lemming list! Good to know I want the only one stroking my nails! LOL
DeleteThe texture doesn't really appeal to me... I wonder if like you and Jayne I'd like it better after I try it
ReplyDeleteI was a bit apprehensive too when I was looking, which is why I only got one. And it doesn't looks so chunky IRL at least not to my eyes. The camera picks up the texture way more than I can actally see.
DeleteI love the colour! I've only tried Barry M textured ones and I was a bit on the fence about them, going to check out China Glaze's collection now! x

Yay thanks Lauren :) - I probably should mention that China Glaze's are all matte whereas Zoya's is more sparkly.
