POP Beauty Trio in Smokin' Hot

I didn’t mind the colours I received. Smokin' Hot contained a white shadow, a grey silvery shadow and a dark grey. I think it was supposed to be black but it came off as more of a very dark grey. I did find them a bit chalky and took a few layers and some time to blend but they weren’t horrible. I just made sure to prime my eyes. I was able to pull off a nice look with just this trio. I did notice that the shadows applied better if you used the applicator. Would I buy a full sized palatte? No, not for £15.50 ($25USD/$27CDN), I don’t think it is worth it.

Be a Bombshell The One Stick in Flustered

I was a little unsure about this stick… what was it for? A cream blush? A lipstick? Apparently it is for use on the cheeks, eyes, and mouth. It is creamy and long lasting. It is pigmented so you have to be careful with initial application. The swatch on my arm lasted all afternoon. Even after I wiped it off with a facial wipe there was a bit of a stain remaining. I actually like this as a blush. I still need to see what it looks like as a lipstick. The colour is a hot pinky tone. It does make you looked ‘flushed’ when blended out on the cheeks. I had no problem blending this in at all. It did have a tiny bit of sheen to it. It was nothing major.  I have said it before, most of the products I have tried from Be a Bombshell I have really liked. I really want to get some shadows from them to check out.

J.Cat Beauty Big Lip Pencil in Mocha Caramel

I thought this lip pencil was great. It is a really pretty nude. On me, it leaned to the orange side but with a pink gloss over it, it was perfection. I found it pretty hydrating. The wear time was around 2 hours on me but I drink coffee a lot. So no lipstick is going to last with reapplications on me.

Demeter Roll On / Nicka K nail polish

I thought this scent was nice but not quite my cup of tea. I did give it a friend as a stocking stuffer. I hope she likes it.

What an odd shade for a ‘celebration’ bag but I can use it. I like this mauvy taupe.

Sedona Lace Vortex Travel Set

I had been eyeing up Sedona Lace’s Professional Vortex Brush ($89.95 USD) set for over a year now. I wanted it, desired it; the jumbo fan brush, the tulip brush, the dome contour brush, the universal shader brush…oh my…

Repeatedly, I would put the Vortex Set in my cart only to take it back out again. Did I really really need it? No, I have like 50+ brushes already (the count is probably closer to 70 hehe) #brushwhore

I just couldn’t justify a whole professional 13 piece set when I have so many quality brushes already. I usually let my head rule my heart when it comes to makeup purchases. #stupidhead!

But Sedona Lace recently launched the Vortex Travel set the week of their Black Friday event. The stars were aligned and I was online at the appropriate time and I managed to get the Vortex Travel Brush set for 50% off the retail price of $49.95 USD! My order came super fast and was packed beautifully. It took a week to get from Florida to Canada. That alone astounded me! Plus every Black Friday order came with a black liquid liner pen.

November’s theme was Glam It Up. As soon as I saw the bag I was like Eww NO! That was a fail Ispy. It is some sort of tinfoily gold snakeskin lame. Not my taste at all. It will be given to my best friends little girl to play with.

November 2013 Topbox Givenchy Edition

For November, I opted for the Givenchy box. I couldn’t resist this luxe line. One of my favorite perfumes is from Givenchy, Amarige, so I had to see what Givenchy had to sample. I wasn’t disappointed! The packaging of the samples alone made me ohh and ahh for quite a while after I opened up the tube. I am not one to go for packaging but Givenchy’s packaging is pretty sweet.

I opted for the Cosmetics Magazine Topbox for October. You had to pay $5 for the upgrade but I thought it was worth it. Once I saw the Shiseido product and the Bio-Oil I was sold.

I chose the Chatelaine box for September. This Topbox was pretty long. I loved the pattern on the paper that was on the outside of this tube. I kept the tube for what I don’t know. I think I am turning into a makeup hoarder HAHA. The tube was pretty long so it could accommodate the Chatelaine issue enclosed.

I know I disappeared for awhile. Life got in the way. After I thought I was doing so well recovering from my surgery (and I was) I developed an infection (not on the actual hip/scar). The doctors, being hyper-vigilant, put me on a round of antibiotics that totally floored me. I basically laid in bed for two week only crawling out to go to physio. Once I recovered from that then my father needed help. He needed to move from the country to town. His finally realized he couldn’t handle the day to day things that need to get done whilst living in the country. Lots of things you have do when you live in the country plus he has health issues. So now he is relocated in town. I also adopted his little pupper so I have been re-training her the last two weeks. She basically had no real house training. It was 24/7 but she is now house trained and I am exhausted LOL. It has only been the past few nights that the dogs have finally let me sleep a whole night. YAY
