Bonjour Topbox fans, time for me to show you what came in the regular January box.

Once again I opted for the regular Topbox. I almost selected the Benefit Prive box for January but I have already received, tried or am loving those samples. But that doesn’t mean to say a girl doesn’t want more right? Agh I was torn but I just thought I would roll the dice with and see what I would get in the regular box.

Who doesn’t like getting a ton of makeup for free? I sure do! I went a little nuts and blew a huge chunk of my Shoppers Drug Mart points this week but YOLO right?

For those that don’t know what Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) is, it is a huge Canadian drugstore chain. Think CVS or Rite Aid.

Shoppers Drug Mart had a redemption point event the past week where you cash in 50000 points ($85) and get back 15000 points or 95000 points ($170) and get back 30000 points. I usually wait until they have a mega redemption event where they bump up the cash value of the points ( ie: 95000 gets you $200) but I needed to get some moisturizer, foundation and a few other miscellany so I redeemed 95000 points and went to town.

I sit here with my tea and my blankie wrapped around me. Damn this frozen winter will just not quit!! Since it is too cold to go anywhere I am playing with my Ipsy Glam bag.

The theme for January is 19 Reasons, which I am assuming is the number of brand partners or possible items that were available for this month.

The bag is a blue/powder blue with the outline of beauty products on it. It isn’t the prettiest bag but it wasn’t the worst. I think its pretty sturdy and made well but it stunk really bad like rubber/gasoline or industrial something. I am going to toss it in the wash and if it survives I will use it to store some lip balms.

Yes I know this almost a month late! Ooops! I had this box all pulled apart and played with before I realized I forgot to post about it. Hehe.

The presentation of the Luxe Box is absolutely gorgeous. The elegant white box with the satiny pouch bag that our luxurious samples come in is a great treat.

I was going to cancel this box but I thought just one more box..one more. I am glad I didn’t cancel as I was pleasantly surprised by some of the samples in this box. Plus I needed a couple more boxes to finish creating dividers in my makeup drawers LOL. These are the perfect size to put in my Meike drawers.

CoverGirl Rose Twist

I discovered these CoverGirl lip balms in my Winter Luxe Box. In that box came Ruby Twist, a pinky red. I liked it so much that I picked up another one, Rose Twist, while perusing through Walmart. It was $6.97 plus I had a coupon for CoverGirl so I got it for $4.97. YAY! I am quite enjoying these twist-up lip glosses.

They go on creamy and are a sheer coverage. The colour of the product looks pretty intense but it doesn’t quite come out as potent. It is more a sheer version of the colour. These ‘balms’ are fortified with shea butter and mango. I did find them pretty moisturizing and my lips love them. In this cold weather (-38C) I need any protection I can get and if I look good doing it all the better! I find them reminiscent of the Revlon Lip Butters.

Hello my friends, I hope everyone had a great relaxing holiday. I finally did after Christmas was done and over with. I don’t know but I just wasn’t feeling the season this year. I guess that was because I HAD to work! Ugh HAHA But in all seriousness I hope you dolls have a great New Year and meet all the goals you set forth for yourself! Maybe I should do a post on my goals for the New Year. I call them goals not resolutions. Goals seem more attainable than resolutions. Resolution sounds so final. Annndd now I am rambling…

For la December, I opted for the regular Topbox. None of the privé choices excited me other that the Givenchy one but I already had that….maybe I should have went for another one? Hmmmm

Anyhow, I wasn’t excited about the December Topbox I received. I was hoping for the red Cuccio lacquer but got a gold glitter (which is an exact dupe for Milani’s Gold Glitz that I already have).

This was the one item out of the box that I loved. I love the smell of coconuts. Plusssss it tastes good too. Yeah I was tasting it on my lips. Numnum. I find this lip butter pretty nourishing. I actually found this one a bit more emollient than my BodyShop lip butter. I looked today and this lip butter was still not available on the Belvada website. I think the SRP is $10. Body Shop’s lip butter is $4.50. How much better is this lip butter? Well not double the price better.

It is too …too something for me. Too florally sweet? I don’t know but I didn’t like it.

I kind of mentioned it a bit earlier in the post but I was hoping to get the red lacquer that was going on around out there but I ended getting the gold glitter. Don't get me wrong, it is a good polish - a thick gold glitter. It will be great for blinging up my nails but I already have Milani’s Gold Glitz which is an exact dupe for this one. Milani’s bottle is even shaped the same albeit a little bit smaller.

I don’t like these types of samples. I hate twisting the cap off and then what? What do you do with the leftover?
But I will try it out on my forehead and see if it works. I am starting to get some fine lines there. Oh the joys of getting older... :( But this a temporary fix not a cure for the actual wrinkle.

Not one of the better TopBoxes. I am kind of wishing I went for the Benefit Privé TopBox for January seeing how December’s regular box kind of fizzled.
