Urban Decay Naked 3 |
I like this palette but I
do not love it. I might even say for a brief moment I had a bit of buyer’s
remorse after shelling out $62 CDN for this (plus taxes and shipping). Eeek!!
Let me show you the
palette before I tell you why I wasn’t completely over the moon about it.
This newest inclusion of the Naked palettes includes a 4 mattes, 6 satins/shimmers and 2 metallic finishes.
Of course the Naked 3 has
the same buttery softness that almost all Urban Decay shadows have, super
pigmented, easy to apply, buttery and stay put all day. The case is gorgeous. I
love the case. It is a metallic tin that snaps shut. It feels really sturdy. I
love the design with the gold imprint atop of the wavy rose gold lid. It also
comes with a good quality brush and a big mirror inside. Plus you get four re-sealable
samples of all four UD Primer Potions; Original, Sin, Eden and the new
Anti-Aging primer.
The colours include:
Strange - neutral cream (matte)
Dust - pale pink shimmer with micro-glitter, little bit chunky texture (shimmer)
Burnout - light peachy pink (satin)
Limit - light dusty rose (matte)
Buzz - rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter (metallic)
Trick – pink toned copper shimmer (shimmer)
Nooner - medium mauve brown (matte)
Liar - medium mauve shimmer (shimmer)
Factory – pink toned brown (satin)
Mugshot - taupe shimmer with pink shift (metallic)
Darkside - deep mauve-y taupe (satin)
Blackheart - black with red undertone and red micro-sparkle (matte-ish)
What I liked
about the Naked 3;
I really liked the mattes
shades; Strange, Limit and Nooner, and I also love Buzz and Darkside. The case is gorgeous; I have no complaints about the packaging at all.
The colour payoff is great for the majority of shadows. I never worry about colour payoff from Urban Decay
What I didn’t
like about the Naked 3;
On me, 3 of the shades are
almost indistinguishable from each other; Liar, Factory and Mugshot.Dust get lost on me, it matches my skin tone so well. Plus it has a lot of fallout.
The price - in Canada it is $62. Sephora ships from the US so I do not understand why we still have to pay so much more GRRR!
The 3 midtone shades; Liar, Factory and Mugshot, all look the same on me. In the pans, they look so different but blended out (on me) they look very similar to each other. I can really only use one of these shades at a time on a look. Mixing any of the 3 and I end up with a big mauv-y mess.
I guess when I first saw
the Naked 3, I was so stoked about the pink rose gold neutrals. Back in the day
when I first started wearing makeup, all I ever wore was pink eye shadow. So
there was a nostalgic factor urging me to get this palette.
