Urban Decay Naked 3

Hi there! I am sure everyone has seen lots of reviews and pictures of Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette by now but I thought I throw my two cents in on it.  I got the Naked 3 during the Sephora Friends and Family sale at the beginning of December 2013. I had originally wanted to get the Lorac Pro Palette but it was sold out but my second choice was the Naked 3 palette. I was getting one of these palettes at that sale come hell or high water!






This newest inclusion of the Naked palettes includes a 4 mattes, 6 satins/shimmers and 2 metallic finishes. 




The colours include:
Strange - neutral cream (matte)
Dust - pale pink shimmer with micro-glitter, little bit chunky texture (shimmer)
Burnout - light peachy pink (satin)
Limit - light dusty rose (matte)
Buzz - rose shimmer with silver micro-glitter (metallic)
Trick – pink toned copper shimmer (shimmer)
Nooner - medium mauve brown (matte)
Liar - medium mauve shimmer (shimmer)
Factory – pink toned brown (satin)
Mugshot - taupe shimmer with pink shift (metallic)
Darkside - deep mauve-y taupe (satin)
Blackheart - black with red undertone and red micro-sparkle (matte-ish)



I really liked the mattes shades; Strange, Limit and Nooner, and I also love Buzz and Darkside.
The case is gorgeous; I have no complaints about the packaging at all.
The colour payoff is great for the majority of shadows. I never worry about colour payoff from Urban Decay

On me, 3 of the shades are almost indistinguishable from each other; Liar, Factory and Mugshot.
Dust get lost on me, it matches my skin tone so well. Plus it has a lot of fallout. 
The price - in Canada it is $62. Sephora ships from the US so I do not understand why we still have to pay so much more GRRR!

The 3 midtone shades; Liar, Factory and Mugshot, all look the same on me. In the pans, they look so different but blended out (on me) they look very similar to each other. I can really only use one of these shades at a time on a look. Mixing any of the 3 and I end up with a big mauv-y mess.

I have been wanting to make the change for awhile now. I finally did the research and pulled the trigger. I decided on www.themakeupnut.com as my friends jokingly refer to me as a "makeup nut" so I just rolled with it! 
Please bear with me as I make the change. I am trying to do this as seamlessly as possible. Everything will stay the same just a new doman name.

So stay tuned as I plan on doing a giveaway in the near future to celebrate the new domain name. I am still mulling over what that should be though. Any thoughts? I have been trying to get a hold of the Lorac Pro Palette but it is so hard to get (here in Canada) unless I go through a secondary shipping company. Ugh! Me wants it already! LOL

I went for the regular Topbox for February. I guess I like rolling the dice and taking my chances! The regular February Topbox is no slouch though! Seriously I was smiling as I was pulling out my gems from the Topbox tube.

I am all about getting a luminous glow right now. So I was quite excited to see this in my box. Plus we got a full sized product! I swatched it on my arm (below). In that swatch I went pretty heavy so it I could capture it on the camera. But a light swatch was so subtle, just a nice light glow. I can’t wait to try this on the old face tomorrow! Yessss!

I have had this moisturizer in my box before. While a repeat, I am happy to see it. I really liked it. It is a great moisturizer for dry skin. I liked it so much I ended up getting the Total Moisture Eye Cream!

Two deluxe samples in one! The lip gloss is so pretty and smells like candy, like pixie sticks. Yum! The mascara is black and the wand is a bushy conical type wand. I am going to test this out tomorrow morning. I think this is going in the purse makeup bag. Great for on the go!

February 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag

The bag is a pretty hot pink nylon bag. I really love it. Even the inside has a super cute pink print in it. Everything in the bag is very girly girl romantic which I am totally digging for some reason.

Dot is from the Spring 2014 Awaken collection. Dot is a pale pink crème. I wasn’t able to swatch it as the bottle was slightly frozen and I was scared to fudge it up. I am letting it warm up gradually before playing around with it. I am so excited t get a Zoya polish from a new collection.

The colour I received was Violette. It is gorgeous shimmery violet purple. I was so suprised at how opaque it was. GORG! I swatched it below for you. It is so pretty. I couldn't wait to try it so I slapped some on right away! The swatch went on so smoothly and once this shadow set it was not going anywhere. As I sit here a couple hours later typing this, the swatch on my arm is still going strong. Even rubbing it hasn’t smudged it. Wow.

The lashes I received were the EL13s. These lashes are great for a subtle look. I like that these lashes have invisible bands. I hate thick bands. They always seem to ‘pop’ off in the corners on me. These EL13s remind me of my beloved Ardell Demi-Wispies. It is great that they have a latex free lash glue included. At $3.99, they seem priced pretty well.
